Embezzlement Air America Jeffrey Aulenbach Gloria Wise Community Center Evan Montvel-Cohen Charles Rosen Action Date: October 5, 2006 Location: New York, NY On October 5, 2006, two former executives from the Gloria Wise Community Center were charged in New York with misapprpriating $1.2 million from the non-profit center. Prosecutors charged that much of the money was diverted to a radio network, Air America, which was co-founded by a former executive from Gloria Wise. Charles Rosen and Jeffrey Aulenbach were charged with grand larceny and obstructing governmental administration. Rosen was also charged with forgery. Some of the money was allegedly diverted to their personal use including home renovations,furnishings and new cars. $875,000 went to Air America. Most of the funding for the community center in the Bronx came from government grants and contracts. Air America's former chairman, Evan Montvel-Cohen was removed from the company in 2004.
