On November 25, 2003, Anthony Blissett, the CEO and president of A.B. Financing & Investments, Inc. was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay resttitution of over $27 million. Blissett was ordered to stop operations by a federal district court judge in Miami in a related fraud case. The SEC alleged that A.B. Financing targeted African-Americans with ties to the Caribbean. Blissett allegedly guaranteed a tax-free 30% return-on-investment to investors with a minimum of $10,000. Blissett transferred investments from over 2,000 individuals to his other companies, including Blissco Properties, Caribbean Cultural Art & Exhibition Centre and JamRock Marketplace.
